On the 20th of December 2011 the Bogdanka Mine concluded a long-term contract with the North Power Plant on the regular coal supply for the planned power generation units in the Pelplin municipality. In 2011 the net value of the contract has been estimated at PLN 10,352 billion. The contract provides the coal supplies for 21 full years.
It is worth recalling that the North Power Plant has encountered certain problems in recent months – on April 15th, 2013 the Chief Building Inspector repealed the decision of the Pomerania Voivodship Governor on the approval of the construction project of the North Power Plant and the building permit for the investment ‘Coal power plant 2000 MW in Rajkowy – associated infrastructure related to water consumption and waste water discharge to the Vistula River’.
