Dr Jan Kulczyk, the richest man in Poland, whose company is the main investor of Elektrownia Północ, is also the chairman of Green Cross International – a respected environmental organization that works for making the world a safer and better place for all of us. What’s more incredible, he also belongs to the Climate Change Task Force which gathers climate experts and leaders from all around the world whose goal is to solve the climate crisis. Does investing in a major dirty energy project sound completely contradictory to this mission?
Dr Kulczyk himself has declared several times how deeply he cares for the future of our planet and all its inhabitants. ‘We have a choice. Unless we start to eliminate the sources of global environmental risks today, tomorrow they will eliminate us’ he has recently said.
