On September 23rd world leaders met at the UN Climate Summit in New York organized by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon who asked them to present concrete declarations and proposals in order to galvanize and catalyze climate action and mobilize political will for a meaningful and binding legal agreement on climate protection in Paris in 2015. More than 125 world leaders participated in the Summit including the presidents: Barack Obama, François Hollande and David Cameron as well as Vice Premier of China Zhang Gaoli. Pomerania for renewables, renewables for Pomerania! This vision and this direction ought to be supported and developed, creating new jobs, ensuring energy safety and protecting natural resources using RE. We do not need a coal-fired power plant! On the 28th-30th July 2014 the people opposing the Elektrownia Północ project are organizing street actions in Gdańsk, Tczew and Malbork. Between 10th and 12th of June 2014 in the towns and villages near the planned Elektrownia Północ power plant citizens could meet the investor whose goal was to convince them to this enterprise. The citizens, though, shown little interest – the meeting rooms were almost empty. Read more »
